Swedish Massage Treatments

 

A relaxing massage technique, Swedish Massage uses a range of movements to apply pressure to the muscles, relaxing them & improving blood flow to the treated area, helping in the removal of wastes and speeding up healing time for muscular strains.

It stretches the ligaments & tendons, helping to keep the body smooth & supple, whilst at the same time reducing both physical & emotional stress.

Swedish Massage is often recommended in a regular program for stress management.

 

 

                                           Reflexology

 

Reflexology is a natural healing therapy, usually carried out by applying pressure to the foot.

 

Reflexologists believe that the systems of the body are mapped out in certain areas of the foot, and that by stimulating these areas with a targeted reflexology massage treatment, symptoms can be treated and improved.

 

The treatment is not simply a foot massage, although it is very relaxing. It has been found to help clients to achieve a better quality of sleep, to ease muscular aches and pains (especially useful for those clients for whom a body massage is not practical) & to stimulate the body to self heal. Most reflexology clients – however cynical initially – return for further treatments, as this can dramatically improve quality of life for those in pain.

 

Reiki & Colour Therapy

 

Reiki is a system of natural healing carried out whilst the client lies & relaxes on the treatment couch. It works on the aura, or energy field, around the clients body to repair and balance any irregularities.

 

At THE NATURAL ALTERNATIVE, we combine our reiki treatments with colour therapy – the use of coloured ribbons placed across the chakra points – to help realign the body.

 

 

 

Hot & Cold Stone Therapy Massages

In this treatment hot basalt stones are used to warm and penetrate the body deeply, soothing the muscles as your aches and cares are gently massaged away. Cold marble stones are used on facial areas to ease tension in the head, and sooth your busy mind - excellent for headaches or to cool you down on a hot summers day.
